Foundation for the Promotion of Gifted Vocational Education

The advancement scholarship supports experienced professionals in completing their first university degree (bachelor’s or diploma). Prerequisite: At least two years of professional experience after vocational training and a special professional ability that can be proven by the training grade or an employer suggestion, among other things. The application is made online before the start of your studies, as an exception for students who are already studying up to the 2nd semester.
PhD funding
The respective federal states are responsible for funding doctoral students. Anyone who has completed a university degree with above-average grades and is a German citizen is eligible to apply (foreign citizens only under certain conditions). The scholarships are advertised publicly, and the selection is made by the respective universities. Further information can be obtained from the scholarship departments of the universities.
Postdoctoral Funding
Young scientists with a doctorate (age limit 30) whose doctorate shows exceptional qualities can be supported by the German Research Foundation. They should be given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with basic research for a limited period of time and thus qualify for jobs outside of the universities.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), an institution of the universities in Germany, has the task of promoting international relations in the university sector.
The DAAD therefore awards scholarships to German and foreign students, graduates, interns, young scientists and university teachers of all disciplines to promote training and further education as well as research work. In addition, the DAAD places and supports German academic teachers of all disciplines at foreign universities.
